Capri’s Highlights From The Waukesha Business Alliance Summit

Group of people who served on the panel at the Workforce Summit

Last month, Sam Smith, our Sr. HR Business Partner – Talent Acquisition Manager, had the pleasure of representing Capri at the Waukesha Business Alliance’s 1st Annual Workforce Summit at Carthage College. This event focused on the best practices for employee retention strategies, providing a fantastic opportunity to connect and share insights with other local businesses. The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote speech by Jim Morgan, Vice President of Workforce Strategy for MRA, who shared the latest trends in retention strategies from both state and national perspectives. His insights set the stage for an engaging and enlightening day.

Following the keynote, Sam participated in a lively panel discussion alongside representatives from Duffek Construction and Eaton, both of which are also based in Waukesha. These companies, like Capri, were recognized for their innovative approaches to workforce strategies. Being selected by the Waukesha Business Alliance as a leading organization in this space was a thrilling moment for us at Capri. It highlights our entire team’s dedication and hard work in creating a workplace that our employees love.

During the panel, Sam highlighted some of Capri’s most exciting initiatives, starting with our groundbreaking 4-day work week program for hourly employees. This program is a game-changer, allowing eligible employees who work 30-32 hours in a week to receive an additional 8 hours of pay. This means more time to enjoy life outside of work without sacrificing income. Currently active in seven of our campuses, the 4-day work week has been a huge hit, boosting employee happiness and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Sam also talked about our partnership with Uber for Business, a fantastic perk that makes life easier for our team. Whether it’s an unexpected car repair, the need for a reliable ride or just simplifying daily commutes, this program has got our employees covered. They can use Uber for Business and pay for rides through payroll deductions, ensuring smooth and stress-free transportation. It’s just one of the many ways we support our employees in making their lives a little easier and more enjoyable.

Another highlight of Sam’s discussion was Capri’s collaborative culture. At Capri, we believe in building meaningful relationships with our employees, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and heard. This open and supportive culture translates into valuable feedback, helping us continuously improve and tailor our practices to better meet the needs of our team. By fostering a sense of community and encouraging open communication, we’ve created a workplace where employees are genuinely happy and motivated.

The recognition by the Waukesha Business Alliance is more than just an honor; it’s a testament to Capri’s commitment to creating a positive and enriching work environment. Being seen as a leader in innovative workforce strategies within the Waukesha community is something we’re incredibly proud of. It validates all the efforts we’ve put into making Capri a place where employees can thrive both professionally and personally.

Capri’s participation in the Waukesha Business Alliance’s 1st Annual Workforce Summit was a wonderful milestone for us. It provided a platform to showcase our forward-thinking initiatives and our dedication to employee satisfaction and retention. With programs like the 4-day work week and Uber for Business, Capri is setting new standards in workforce management, ensuring that our employees not only enjoy their work but also have the time and resources to enjoy life to the fullest.
