Karissa Holpfer

Executive Director

Karissa brings over 19 years of experience in long-term care to her role. She has devoted her career to long-term care, including extensive experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities and a strong focus on serving seniors. Karissa holds administrator credentials and is a Certified Nursing Assistant, reflecting her deep commitment to providing exceptional care.

Karissa enjoys life by spending time with her young family, who keep her busy with activities ranging from wrestling mats to baseball fields. Outside of sports, she loves boating, exploring ATV trails, tackling DIY home improvement projects and making the perfect cup of coffee. Karissa also cherishes relaxing moments on the beach, her favorite place to unwind.

Trevor Herzberg

Assistant Executive Director

Trevor began his professional journey as a Director of Community Services in the Madison area. He later transitioned to the same position at Regency Senior Communities in Brookfield before advancing to his current role as Assistant Executive Director.

Trevor earned a degree in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.

Trevor enjoys life by exploring Wisconsin’s state parks, cheering on his favorite team – the Philadelphia Eagles – participating in recreational sports like softball and volleyball, and diving into books focused on self-improvement.

Abby Kuna

Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator

Abby’s passion for working with seniors began during high school and college, where she volunteered at senior living communities. While pursuing her degree, she became a Recreation Therapy Assistant, solidifying her desire to contribute to lifestyle enrichment programs. After earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business administration and an emphasis in gerontology, Abby served as a Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator at a community in her college town before joining Regency Brookfield.

Abby is also a certified Dementia Friends Champion, empowering her to advocate for individuals with dementia and their families.

In her free time, Abby enjoys life by spending time with family and friends, listening to music, cooking, reading, and staying active through workouts.

Laura Schoonover

Independent living manager

From a young age, Laura was drawn to the rewarding path of serving older adults. With an Associate’s Degree in Human Services and Gerontology, she has pursued her career in providing compassionate care to aging individuals, particularly those with dementia. At Drumlin Reserve, Laura discovers profound fulfillment in her daily interactions, treasuring the rich stories and enduring joy shared by the residents.

Laura is compassionate, supportive and steadfast with a nurturing demeanor and unwavering commitment. Beyond her professional endeavors, Laura enjoys life with her family and nurtures her passion for exploration, finding solace and rejuvenation in the Florida Gulf Coast. Her guiding principle encapsulates a simple yet profound ethos: “Be you!”
