If you’re driving through Brookfield this week, you may notice a change on North Avenue. Heritage Place of Brookfield, a Capri Community offering Independent and Assisted Living senior apartments, has a new name….Ruby Commons! Capri unveiled the rebranding to Ruby Commons on February 1, 2023.
Sr. Director of Marketing, Kim Irwin, shared, “Capri really wanted to give this special community a facelift and create an identity more aligned with the area in which it resides. The new name, Ruby Commons, gives a nod to the Ruby Family’s farming history in Brookfield as well as our neighboring shopping center, Ruby Isle.”
To select the senior community’s new name, residents were asked to submit ideas. Finalists were determined and a survey taken. Ultimately, Capri’s Senior Leadership selected the name Ruby Commons from a write-in vote by one of the residents.
In addition to the new name, Ruby Commons is also getting an interior renovation, updating this building that was purchased by Capri in 2017. Improvements include fresh painting & wallcoverings, new flooring, lighting and furniture throughout, and outdoor patio enhancements.
Once the renovation is complete, Ruby Commons plans to host a Wizard of Oz themed grand re-opening celebration in June to show off their new look. As one of the current residents proclaimed, “We’re Ruby Commons! There’s No Place Like Our Home!”
