What is the difference between Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing or Nursing Home?

Assisted living is focused on providing supportive care services and a social lifestyle in a residential setting. A skilled nursing home is a service that provides temporary, 24/7 medical assistance for an injury or illness. A medical referral is required. A nursing home is a licensed residential facility that offers on-site, ongoing skilled care to those who need assistance and monitoring around the clock.

Does Capri Communities offer Respite Care or short-term stays?

Yes, we do, pending availability. A short-term or respite stay can be anywhere from two weeks to a month or longer. A respite stay is a great option for family caregivers who need a break or who are leaving on vacation and need to find care for a loved one while they are away. Respite care is also a great way for families who want to give senior living a trial run or experience what a senior living community is like without a long-term commitment. Respite stays also frequently serve as a helpful transition from a rehabilitation facility when a loved one is released from the hospital but still needs care and assistance prior to returning home.

What transportation services are offered?

Our communities offer accessible scheduled transportation to scheduled outings like shopping, dining and recreational activities. Certain communities may also offer transportation to private appointments.

Are there financial options to make senior living and care more affordable?

There are state programs available for families who exhaust their private funding for Assisted Living services. Capri Communities requires a minimum amount of private pay funding within the licensed areas of our communities before conversion to available Wisconsin Medicaid funding programs, such as Family Care or Community Care, is possible. Please contact us to learn more.

Residents can join our Enjoy Life Adventure Series. This unique program promotes active aging and socialization by bringing together residents from all Capri Communities to participate in adventure activities outside of our buildings.

Taking things one step further, for independent residents who like to travel, our Enjoy Life On the Road series gives residents, their family and friends the opportunity to participate in a variety of fabulous trips both domestic and international. These trips are value-priced and cater to older adults to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
