Capri Communities announced the opening of Grace Commons in a unique way: they surprised local seniors by paying for their groceries at Metro Market in Menomonee Falls during Seniors Hours on May 18.
“We are thrilled to open Grace Commons and welcome residents to their new home,” said Jim Tarantino, Capri Communities CEO. “While a traditional grand opening isn’t possible, we brought the celebration to the Menomonee Falls community. We’re incredibly proud of the neighborhoods our residents call home, and we are committed to providing them with a safe, vibrant and healthy environment grounded in a purposeful life.”
Menomonee Falls Village President, David Glasgow participated in the celebration. “The seniors of Menomonee Falls were truly surprised and delighted as they checked out at Metro Market Menomonee Falls during Seniors Hours and found their groceries were paid for by Grace Commons. Traditionally these grand openings are held on-site so this was a creative, community-centric way for Grace Commons to meet its potential residents in their community – at the grocery store. We look forward to a grand opening when guidance allows for larger gatherings,” said Glasgow.
Situated on more than 30 acres, Grace Commons is a three-story senior living community located adjacent to Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Independent living and assisted living apartments feature spacious one- and two-bedroom options with heated, underground parking. Private two-bedroom Casettas (Italian for ‘small home’) with one- or two-car garage will also be available. Living spaces offer a variety of amenities such as stainless-steel appliances, in-unit washer/dryer, ample storage space and views of the surrounding landscape. A special memory care wing will accommodate those needing dementia support services.
The community also features expansive indoor and outdoor common spaces, restaurant-style dining, casual dining, taproom, full-service exercise room and fitness classes, on-site physical, and occupational therapy, outdoor fitness stations and nature trails.
Residents can enjoy a wide variety of programming led by specially trained staff that is designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle and active aging. Our programming celebrates the life stories and individual interests of our residents and encourages a sense of community.
