Karissa Holpfer

Executive Director

Karissa brings over 19 years of experience in long-term care to her role. She has devoted her career to long-term care, including extensive experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities and a strong focus on serving seniors. Karissa holds administrator credentials and is a Certified Nursing Assistant, reflecting her deep commitment to providing exceptional care.

Karissa enjoys life by spending time with her young family, who keep her busy with activities ranging from wrestling mats to baseball fields. Outside of sports, she loves boating, exploring ATV trails, tackling DIY home improvement projects and making the perfect cup of coffee. Karissa also cherishes relaxing moments on the beach, her favorite place to unwind.

Trevor Herzberg

Assistant Executive Director

Trevor began his professional journey as a Director of Community Services in the Madison area. He later transitioned to the same position at Regency Senior Communities in Brookfield before advancing to his current role as Assistant Executive Director.

Trevor earned a degree in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.

Trevor enjoys life by exploring Wisconsin’s state parks, cheering on his favorite team – the Philadelphia Eagles – participating in recreational sports like softball and volleyball, and diving into books focused on self-improvement.

Joanna Estrada, RN

Director of Health Services

Joanna has served as the Director of Health Services at Regency Brookfield since 2021. Before joining Regency, she spent nine years at a nonprofit community-based organization, supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities as an RN Care Coordinator, supervisor, and trainer.

With over a decade of nursing experience, Joanna earned her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2008 and later completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Religious Studies in 2013. Earlier in her career, she found joy in participating in medical missions to the Philippines.

Joanna enjoys life by spending time with her husband, Jesse, and their two children, Jesse Jr. and Josephine. Together, they love outdoor adventures, including ATV riding, camping, ice fishing, and backyard cookouts by the fire.

Alyssa Spitzer, BSN, RN

Memory Care Manager

Alyssa serves as the Memory Care Coordinator at Regency Brookfield. As the second oldest of eight siblings, Alyssa’s natural caregiving spirit was nurtured from a young age, leading to a lifelong passion for supporting others.

She graduated with her BSN from Carroll University in 2021 and began her career in hospice nursing, where she developed a deep connection with seniors, particularly those with dementia and Alzheimer’s. This paved the way for her to embrace her true passion: championing the individuality and dignity of those with dementia and serving as a vital resource for their families.

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys life by spending time with her family, friends and church community. A creative soul, she loves singing, painting, cooking and designing. Alyssa is an avid reader, often immersing herself in Jane Austen novels or historical fiction. When the weather is pleasant, you can find her relaxing in a hammock, exploring farmer’s markets or watching sunsets from hilltops.
