Leah Jones

Campus Executive Director

With over 12 years of experience in senior care, Leah always knew she wanted to work with seniors since she was a teenager. Leah is proud to have the opportunity to contribute to improving the quality of life for seniors. What makes Leah such a great fit in her role is her compassion, patience, care and understanding for seniors. As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, one of Leah’s strongest passions is dementia care education and research. When not at St. Catherine’s you can find Leah upcycling furniture, doing a DIY project on her house or tending to chickens on her 3 acre hobby farm. Words to live by: “Find positivity and gratitude each day”.

Maria Feitlich

Community Relations Manager

Every day Maria comes to work with an upbeat and positive personality! Maria didn’t start her career in senior living, but she’s happy this is where she ended up. Maria’s colleagues would describe her as sweet, approachable and kindhearted, all amazing qualities that we value at St. Catherine Commons.  A few fun facts to know about Maria is that she plays the flute, speaks Polish (English is actually her second language) and she can make balloon art, arches and columns! When Maria is not at St. Catherine Commons or partaking in her hidden talents, you might find her taking a walk outside, watching movies or tv, doing puzzles or exploring Wisconsin.  Maria is a new Wisconsin resident, so if you have any exploring recommendations, send them her way!  A few things Maria wants to accomplish this year is improving her health, read a book a month, and put together a cookbook for herself with recipes she’s mastered. Her quote to live by is, “Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” We here at St. Catherine Commons are lucky to have Maria!

Laura Walch

Memory Care Manager

Laura has known since high school that she wanted to work with older adults. Laura graduated from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. She is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Dementia Live coach and is trained in Total Brain Health programming.

Laura has helped transform the Blu Grotto neighborhood into a place where neighbors are always looking out for one another and don’t ever want to miss a program. She has helped to bring out the best in the residents experiencing dementia and continues to encourage strong bonds between residents, care staff and families. “Whether it’s going down to Lake Michigan to listen to live music in the summer, catching a movie or driving over to Lake Geneva for a boat ride, I love to take our Blu Grotto residents out in the community to enjoy life.”

When Laura isn’t at St. Catherine Commons, she likes spending time with friends and family, being outside and trying out new places to eat. She loves to read, listen to music and go for hikes and walks with friends. Laura is an avid traveler with a dream of exploring multiple European countries – a top priority on her bucket list.
